چکیده

Methods Model-Based Image Matching (MBIM) motion analysis technique allows us to understand the leg movement quantitatively by analyzing the three-dimensional human motion. With validation, it has been used to obtain ankle kinematics during ankle sprain incidents in various sports [1]. In this study, a sideward cutting motion performed by a female athlete was compared against her injured incident reported in 2012 [2].

A mechanical supination sprain simulator for studying ankle supination sprain kinematics.

This study presents a free-fall mechanical supination sprain simulator for evaluating the ankle joint kinematics during a simulated ankle supination sprain injury. The device allows the foot to be in an anatomical position before the sudden motion, and also allows different degrees of supination, or a combination of inversion and plantarflexion. Five subjects performed simulated supination spra...

Estimation of ligament strains and joint moments in the ankle during a supination sprain injury.

This study presents the ankle ligament strains and ankle joint moments during an accidental injury event diagnosed as a grade I anterior talofibular ligament (ATaFL) sprain. A male athlete accidentally sprained his ankle while performing a cutting motion in a laboratory setting. The kinematic data were input to a three-dimensional rigid-body foot model for simulation analyses. Maximum strains i...

Kinematics analysis of ankle inversion ligamentous sprain injuries in sports: five cases from televised tennis competitions.

BACKGROUND Ankle ligamentous sprain is common in sports. The most direct way to study the mechanism quantitatively is to study real injury cases; however, it is unethical and impractical to produce an injury in the laboratory. A recently developed, model-based image-matching motion analysis technique allows quantitative analysis of real injury incidents captured in televised events and gives im...

An intelligent sport shoe to prevent ankle inversion sprain injury

Materials and methods (1) Sensing: Five subjects performed various sporting motions with data collected from a plantar pressure system to reconstruct the ankle supination torque determined from a motion capture system with a force plate. Validation test on another five subjects was conducted. (2) Identification: Six subjects performed simulated subinjury and non-injury trials with the dorsal fo...

Dierentiation of Ankle Sprain Motion and Common Sporting Motion by Ankle Inversion Velocity Title Differentiation of Ankle Sprain Motion and Common Sporting Motion by Ankle Inversion Velocity Article Type Short Communication

3 This study investigated the ankle inversion and inversion velocity between various 4 common motions in sports and simulated sprain motion, in order to provide a 5 threshold for ankle sprain risk identification. The experiment was composed of two 6 parts: Firstly, ten male subjects wore a pair of sport shoes and performed ten trials of 7 running, cutting, jump-landing and stepping-down motions...
